October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Help us support our mothers, grandmothers, sisters & friends by joining us for this special class to learn how to make Knitted Knockers, soft, knitted prosthesis for mastectomy patients. Knitted Knockers are special handmade breast prostheses for women who have undergone mastectomies or other procedures to the breast. Traditional breast prosthetics are usually expensive, heavy, sweaty and uncomfortable. Knitted Knockers on the other hand are soft, comfortable, beautiful and when placed in a regular bra they take the shape and feel of a real breast. This is a FREE class that includes the pattern, and will help you get started knitting for this great cause.
Whether you need to take the class or not, we hope that everyone can join us on Tuesdays from 11am-1pm throughout the month of October to make Knitted Knockers.
